Anthony is an accomplished flute player and composer, Recording Artist, Nationally Recognized Artist and Instrument Builder, Men's Northern Traditional Dancer, Showcase Artist for the Kentucky Center for the Arts 2003-2010 and Roster Artist for the Louisville Arts Council. Anthony has worked in over 350 schools teaching children and adults alike about Cherokee and Yaqui culture.
Anthony Nava has been working in the Southern Indiana and Kentucky area for over 16 years. "Bridging the Gap of Diversity", is Anthony's goal to teach all ages about indigenous culture. In schools, Anthony teaches that "Native people are as diverse as the entire world." You would have to write a book on each tribe to describe them respectively. In Anthony's educational presentation he tries to introduce a little bit of each one . It is our responsibility to keep our children's minds open to being diverse and creating an atmosphere to learn about culture. I feel to a degree that Native culture has been lost and I am helping to bring it back.
